Guest farmer

Meet my friend and spiritual brother of many years Roger!  Roger and his family visited us Saturday on the ranch. Roger has a great ag background having grown up on a family farm and he currently works for Ag Leader.  I really enjoy talking with Roger and I am always encouraged by his zeal when he discusses ag technology. He has great ideas and his true motivation is to further the ag industry, not just his companies bottom line(though I believe he would agree that the former often leads to the later). He is standing in front of our MF7495 which we pull our planter with, if you look close at the top of the cab you will see a shiny new Ag Leader GPS receiver, this unit along with the display and steering unit will provide automated guidance for this machine during planting.  This is our first venture into automated guidance at the ranch so we(me especially) have one more reason to be excited to hit the field this year. I am sorry to say the unit is still shiny today as we have still not put it to much use with the rain, nor have I learned how to use all of the features it has.

And a big thumbs up to Rogers family, everybody from youngest to oldest including Mrs. Roger showed up with boots.  I hope they visit again soon and Roger can get some time in the operators seat.

High Quality H2O

As you can see, moisture is prevalent in our area at this time.  Too wet to be in the field, this causes a bit of anguish in a guy who is itching to participate in his first full planting season in years. The sun will come out soon and we will be ready to go.
